Thursday, February 6, Shevat 11 – at the Museum for Islamic Art
16:00-16:45 – Guided tour on the theme of sustainability: An experiential tour through the wealth of vegetation and animals hiding around the museum, touching on the bond between humankind and nature, nutrition and medicine, Muslim architecture and climatic compatibility.
16:45-18:00 – Creativity workshop – Germinating a miniature arabesque-shaped Islamic garden.
Dried fruit will be served
Workshop ticket price: NIS 25 per child. Entry to the museum and guided tour – free for children.
Friday, February 7, Shevat 12 – at the Museum of Natural History
13:00-15:30 – Planting and flowerpot decorating workshop
13:15 and 14:00 – Guided tour on the theme of Tu Beshvat in the museum grounds and community garden.
14:15 – Story theater – HaOren Sheloh Samakh Bekhelkoh (The Unsatisfied Pine Tree)
Ticket price: NIS 30 per child. NIS 20 per parent. The cost of the ticket includes participation in all the activities, and entry to the museum
Saturday, February 8, Shevat 13 – in the streets of the German Colony, and the Museum of Natural History community garden
10:30-12:30 – Guided tour with information about trees and beauty spots in the German Colony and the community garden. The tour starts from the entrance to Yehudit House (12 Emek Refaim Street) and will end at the community garden, with a family gathering with tastings of vegetables and fruit, and Tu Beshvat stories. Yisrael Golan will lead and moderate the tour.
13:00-14:00 – Lecture by Tsippi Ron on the subject of: Trees in the City and Public Domain – Their Contribution to the Quality of Our Lives and the Climate Crisis
Thursday, February 13, Shevat 18 – in the Museum of Natural History community garden
16:00-17:00 – Creativity workshop, making tree preservation signs and bags in the German Colony
17:15-18:15 – Tu Beshvat seder with stories and quizzes led by Yisrael Golan
The activities at the Museum of Natural History community garden will take place in the heated Kaffeh Ginatee hut. All the activities and the tour of the German Colony are free.
