12:00 Tanbouri’s Shoes children’s show, by the Elmina Theater

The show is inspired by Tanbouri’s Shoes and Grandma Doesn’t Hear, by Fatma Sharf A-Din. Grandma comes to care for her beloved grandson. She reads him a bedtime story, Tanbouri’s Shoes. The story tells the tale of a miserly merchant from Baghdad who tries to get rid of his big old shoes. The problem is that, each time he’s sure he’s free of them someone brings them back to him. One day he goes out a long way and throws the shoes over a high wall, and they fall right on the head of the king, and… that changes his luck and leads to a surprising end.

The show is for children aged 5-8.
